What villains will The Batman 2 fish out of the comic book pool, given the ending of the first film?

While I do want to se Keoghan’s take on the Joker, because he’s excellent in everything I’ve ever seen him in, I do wonder if wemany versions of the character over the years that more of a break seems like it might be warranted. The Riddler, for instance, we hadn’t seen in a movie since the Jim Carrey days. So that leads us to:– The Batman ends with Gotham City underwater, due to Riddler detonating the flood walls.

Once again, we have not seen Mr. Freeze in a film since Schwarzenegger’s ultra-camp version of him in Batman and Robin 25 years ago. It stands to reason that Matt Reeves could do something unique with Freeze’s story and the tragedy of his wife, as well as use the drowned Gotham to become some sort of icy hell with Freeze running rampant.live action Batman movie yet, to tell the story of Hush, the villain with a grudge against Bruce Wayne.

We have seen two somewhat recent versions of Hush on TV between Gotham and Batwoman, but never on film. It could be time to tell this story there, though I do wonder if the “personal grudge against the Waynes” idea is too similar to what we just saw with The Riddler’s reveals.– Another classic Batman enemy group, and one that has not yet made it into a movie.

Of course it also stands to reason that Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman could return, and given the way the movie ends, that would probably make a lot of sense. But obviously a new central villain would be thefocus. Even if they very much set up Joker to be introduced, I do sort of hope they go a different direction in a sequel, and perhaps save him for the closing chapter of what could be a new trilogy.
