The BAFTA Awards have changed their rules to improve gender parity among the nominees.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has changed the rules for some of its TV Awards and TV Craft Awards categories in a bid to improve gender parity among the nominees.Tuesday, BAFTA said that the top three male and top three female vote-receivers in round one of the directing categories and in round one of the entertainment-performance category will automatically go through to jury consideration for the 2023 awards.

At this year’s TV Craft Awards, there were no female directors nominated in either the fiction or factual directing categories, with just one woman nominated in the multicamera category.
