From the automaker that pioneered the modern mainstream electric vehicle with the Nissan Leaf, the Ariya holds its own in a growing competitive market.

ProsConsWhat’s new? The 2023 Nissan Ariya is the brand’s first all-electric SUV, debuting a decade after the automaker pioneered the modern mainstream electric vehicle with the Nissan Leaf. Prices start at $43,190.

2023 Nissan Ariya pricing The 2023 Nissan Ariya starts at $43,190 for the base Engage FWD model. The Venture+ model with the extended battery starts at $47,190, and the top Premiere trim for the FWD model begins at $54,690. If you’re interested in the e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive powertrain, it’s available starting at $47,190 and tops out at the Platinum+ AWD trim starting at $60,190.

Driving the 2023 Nissan Ariya Like all of today’s electric vehicles, the Ariya pulls away from a stop with an almost dichotomous combination of strength and smoothness. No engine noise, no shifting gears, just instant torque delivered on demand. Single-motor Ariya models can get to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, while dual-motor, all-wheel-drive e-4ORCE versions can make the same run in just 4.8 seconds. Hang onto your hats and glasses.

The Ariya has taken a minimalistic approach to its cabin. The instrument panel is mostly devoid of buttons, relying instead on haptic-based touch input. These touch controls can be a little sensitive, but easy to use when you get past the learning curve.
