Weather conditions for traveling should cooperate in much of the U.S. this week. But a cold front could cause some slow downs in the central U.S. beginning Thanksgiving Day:
Strong wind gusts could impact parts of the mid-Atlantic into New England. This might contribute to a few delays at airports along the East Coast, mainly in the mid-Atlantic.A few showers could also develop in the Southwest, particularly in the higher terrain.Much of the country should see calm weather conditions during the day on Wednesday.
However, a new storm system will begin to tap into increasing moisture over the central U.S. by Wednesday night. This could lead to an increase in rainfall from parts of Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and southern Great Lakes late Wednesday into the overnight hours. A few thunderstorms could even develop in Texas.Widespread rain showers are expected along a front on Thanksgiving Day from portions of Texas into the lower Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio valleys.
Rain and mountain snow showers could also dampen travel plans in the Pacific Northwest from a new cold front pushing into the coast.Rain showers could linger along the immediate Eastern Seaboard as the cold front pushes off the coast.Strong wind gusts will impact parts of the mid-Atlantic into New England.
