BANGKOK (Bloomberg): Thailand reported four new cases of infection by the novel coronavirus, taking its total to 47.
The cases involve travellers from Italy and Iran, Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai, director-general of the Department of Disease Control, said in a briefing Thursday .
One is an Italian tourist and the second is a Thai national returning from Italy. The third is Chinese citizen who was transiting back to China from Iran. The fourth case is a Thai coming back from Iran.The tourism-reliant Thai economy is reeling from the travel curbs sparked by the outbreak. Visitors from China, the disease epicentre, have slumped but are usually the biggest source of tourism receipts.
