A portrait of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn stands among royal and Thai flags outside the Grand Palace during celebrations to mark the King’s 70th birthday in Bangkok - AFPpix: A Thai court cleared a social media influencer on Wednesday of royal defamation over online adverts for an e-commerce company, a human rights lawyers’ group said.
The Thai Lawyers for Human Rights group said the plaintiff had argued that the clips mocked King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s younger sister, Princess Chulabhorn. The court has issued an arrest warrant for Kittikhun Thamakitirat -- who is currently seeking asylum abroad -- a third influencer charged in the case.
