Texas Tech ex Vladislav Goldin, Florida Atlantic not fazed by pressure of Final Four

I just said, ‘OK, I’ll continue my career somewhere else.’” FAU, which had never even won an NCAA Tournament game prior to this season, has now won four en route to its first Final Four. The Owls were loose and having fun at NRG Stadium during Friday’s open practice, which was more of a freewheeling shootaround, with even the FAU mascot “Owlsley” launching the occasional 3-pointer.
“We feel like teams that are called ‘Cinderella’ don’t deserve to be here,” FAU guard Alijah Martin said. “They just have a good run in the tournament – but we’ve been good all year. Our record speaks to that … don’t call us Cinderella. You can call us ‘Beach Boys’ or ‘pit bulls’ or ‘Rottweilers.’ Or you can call us, ‘A really good basketball team.’”
