DALLAS—Texas state Republican leaders are in a face-off with local governments over taxes.
Gov. Greg Abbott and fellow GOP members in the Legislature are pushing for the passage of bills to curb the growth of property taxes, which according to Mr. Abbott are rising too fast and “crushing Texans from all walks of life.”
