A juvenile suspect faces a capital murder charge after he allegedly opened fire outside Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas, striking and killing another male student.

The male student was found with an apparent gunshot wound outside Lamar High School in Arlington when officers responded to reports of a shooting at 6:55 a.m. before many students arrived at the campus for their first day of class after spring break, theThe student was rushed in critical condition to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries, according to officials.
The juvenile suspect never entered the school, and ran from the campus immediately after opening fire, according to police. Where the shooter got the weapon and his motive both remain unclear.
