The Longhorns eked out an 80-78 overtime win at Oklahoma last Tuesday, only to follow with a six-point home loss to then-No. 11 Texas Tech at a Frank Erwin Center saturated with red-clad Red Raiders fans. The 6-foot-9 Mitchell was one of the Longhorns’ key offseason additions, a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference pick who averaged 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 blocks, 1.2 steals and 1.2 3s in 32.2 minutes per game last season. At Texas, Mitchell's per-games averages have plummeted to 18.6 minutes, 8.7 points, four rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 blocks, 0.7 steals and 0.6 3s with coach Chris Beard keeping the big man’s role in constant flux.
