Texas will face top-seeded Oklahoma in the best-of-three national championship series...
Texas players celebrate after defeating Oklahoma State during an NCAA softball Women's College World Series game on Monday, June 6, 2022, in Oklahoma City. Texas won 6-5. The way unseeded Texas clinched its spot in the Women’s College World Series semifinals in Oklahoma City Sunday night imbued coach Mike White with a frisky energy.
Texas, needing to beat OSU twice to keep its season alive, did just that during a wild Monday night double-header in OKC. The Longhorns rolled to a five-run shutout win in the first game, forcing a winner-take-all Game 2 30 minutes later. “This is unbelievable,” White said after Texas clinched its spot in the finals. “It's gonna sink in sooner or later, but it's really not sinking in right now. Credit to the team. They just stuck it out and they're playing really hard.”
