As first reported by, Jim Schwertner, president and CEO of farming and ranching company Schwertner Farms, offered Musk 100 acres of land for free in Schwertner, Texas, which is in Williamson County north of Austin.

Musk had previously suggested turning the Bay Area headquarters into a homelesness shelter in a tweet that has since been deleted.
Schwertner isn’t the only man urging Musk to take Twitter to Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott also tweeted his plea for the tech CEO to bring the social media company to the Lone Star State. Multiple of Musk’s other companies, Tesla, SpaceX and The Boring Company, also have their homes in Texas.If Musk were to move Twitter to the Austin area, it wouldn’t be the first social media giant to stake its claim in the Texas capitol. Meta and TikTok both have office spaces in downtown Austin.
