Texas makes masks a must in public places
Many Republican officials, who were initially lukewarm about the importance of wearing masks amid the Covid-19 crisis, have begun calling for face coverings as the US sees soaring numbers of fresh cases. – EPA pic, July 3, 2020.
TEXAS Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican and ally of US President Donald Trump, yesterday issued an executive order requiring face coverings in public spaces as the state marks record numbers of new coronavirus infections. The order, issued ahead of the July 4 holiday weekend, applies to counties with 20 or more confirmed Covid-19 cases, said Abbott’s office in a statement.
