Texas grandmother Jame Burns pleaded guilty to third-degree felony kidnapping after whisking her two granddaughters away from a Cicis pizza restaurant and triggering an Amber Alert.
"The CPS worker called the police and when our Officers arrived, the father, Justin Burns was taken into custody, as we do believe he was involved in their disappearance," McKinney Police Department said in a Facebook post at the time.
Justin Burns was charged with two counts of kidnapping and held in Collin County Jail, though it is unclear if the charges were dropped. Burns' son, Justin, was dining at a Cicis pizza restaurant in McKinney, Texas, with his two daughters on Jan. 19 before the kidnapping. Jame Burns was arrested when Jessica and Jennifer were found Jan. 22. Burns had a previous criminal record, but police did not detail what crimes she committed.
