Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian provided a big update on who will be starting this weekend.
The Texas Longhorns are getting ready for their first SEC game as a member of the conference this weekend when they take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. It has been a long time coming and the Longhorns feel ready for their chances to win.However, the team has been dealing with some injuries, especially at the quarterback position. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered an oblique strain during the Longhorns' 56-7 win two weeks ago against the University of Texas, San Antonio.
'The last thing that Texas wants to do is rush Ewers back onto the field, especially since they have plans to go far this season. He returned to practice this week but his status remains uncertain.Sarkisian believes Ewers is improving health-wise but wants to be certain before throwing him back into the mix.'I'd say he's improved every day,' Sarkisian said on Thursday.
