FORMER Negros Oriental governor Pryde Henry Teves, brother of embattled Negros Oriental Third District Rep.
Arnolfo Teves Jr., said on Wednesday he is cooperating with the authorities after a police search on a property connected to him yielded unregistered guns and bullets. He denied owning the illegal firearms.Teves said he does not want to put in jeopardy HDJ Bayawan Agri-Venture Corp., a sugar company wherein he is the president, owning a 10 percent share.'I myself would want to know how [the firearms and ammunition] got there,' Teves said.
'I myself have been a victim of an IED explosion that took the lives of seven people and almost claimed mine. I would never in my conscience try to get near an IED. So If I knew there was an IED inside the compound I would be the first one to order its disposal because I do not want others to be injured or killed because of the IED exploding,' said Teves. He said he will order an independent investigation on the matter.'I want to know how they got there.
