Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Tuesday that suspended Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves might return to the country on Wednesday, May 17,2023, the same day that charges will be filed against him in connection with the killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.
Remulla said he got the information from a reliable source.He had earlier tagged Teves as the mastermind in the killing of Degamo.'We want him to be able to face the charges properly,' he said. 'And the timing is perfect because the charges will be filed tomorrow. I hope he comes home.
'Remulla made it clear that there is no arrest warrant waiting for Teves when he returns home.'There's no arrest warrant. What I know is law enforcement agencies have been placed on alert so he can be secured properly. So we will not be surprised by his arrival,' he said. 'Nothing can be said about his life being in danger, because we don't want anything to happen to him,' he added.
