The first batch of Tesla Model Y buyers in Malaysia are finally getting their EVs next week. Tesla Malaysia started accepting orders almost 8 months ago.

The Tesla Model Y’s first delivery in Malaysia is scheduled to take place in the middle of next week and it should be the usual affair like the initial handover of the. To recap, the Tesla Model Y comes in three variants and the base RWD model with 455km of range is priced atexcluding other admin and registration fees.

For customers who opt for the base and mid-trim levels, you can also change from 19″ Gemini to 20″ Induction wheels for an extra RM10,000. If you wish to place your orders, Tesla Malaysia’sAfter the launch of the upgraded Tesla Model 3 , customers who ordered the Model Y were offered the option to switch their order to the Model 3 without losing their RM1,000 non-refundable order fee.

While the Model 3 boasts improved efficiency and range, the top speed for both RWD and Long Range models is limited to 201km/h. The Model Y can get to higher speeds with a maximum of 217km/h for the RWD and LR models, while the Performance model can go higher with a top speed of 250km/h. Of course, the Model Y being an older version loses out on some new additions that the Model 3 has. This includes ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, additional speakers and a new 8″ screen for rear occupants.
