: Persatuan Pengguna Pulau Pinang meminta kerajaan untuk meneruskan langkah penyasaran subsidi bahan api dan tiada keperluan untuk membuat ‘pusingan U’ berikutan tekanan daripada pihak berkepentingan mahupun kumpulan politik.

“Dengan melaksanakan dasar rasionalisasi ini, kerajaan akan mempunyai RM4 bilion dianggarkan RM8 billion oleh seorang pakar ekonomi, yang boleh digunakan untuk pembangunan ekonomi dan kebajikan sosial,“ katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini. Menurutnya, Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup juga perlu memantau harga barangan dan perkhidmatan yang dijual kepada orang ramai bagi mengelak pencatutan oleh peniaga tidak bertanggungjawab yang mengambil kesempatan daripada pemansuhan subsidi diesel.
