The remand order, until Saturday , was issued by Magistrate Sharifah Amierda Shasha Amir Shariffuddin, following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission at the Kemaman Magistrates’ Court, today. “Initial investigations found that the suspects are believed to have committed the offence between 2015 and 2020, accepting bribes in cash and via bank transfers to accounts belonging to the suspects and one of their siblings,” sources said.

GOF Seizes RM900,000 Worth of Smuggled Plants in Two Separate OperationsThe Southeast Brigade of the General Operations Force (GOF) thwarted two smuggling attempts involving ornamental and other plants worth over RM900,000 on Thursday and yesterday. In the first operation, a lorry carrying 1,500 types of seedlings, suspected to be smuggled from Thailand, was intercepted at a roadblock. A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case. The second operation led to the seizure of a lorry carrying 3,800 orchid seedlings and bamboo stakes, also believed to be smuggled from Thailand. Two men, aged 37 and 34, were apprehended.
