Temple University President Jason Wingard has resigned, the university said, following concerns that he wasn’t doing enough to address crime at the Philadelphia university
.that it had accepted Dr. Wingard’s resignation. His last day is Friday.
The board didn’t say why he was stepping down, but his tenure of less than two years had been marred by high-profile campus crimes, a graduate-student strike and faltering confidence among the faculty. He was Temple’s first Black president.
