Temiar Orang Asli lodge police report over land encroachment
The Temiar residents of Kampung Mendrod and Kampung Jelgek B in Pos Brooke have lodged a police report alleging land encroachment in the water catchment areas near their settlement. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 25, 2023.
He was concerned that the water catchment area, depended on by 500 Orang Asli residents, would be contaminated. A representative of the Kampung Jelgek B residents, Ramli Ajom, 34, expressed his sadness and disappointment in seeing more and more land being encroached on, which would have an impact on traditional burial grounds and cultivated land.
