The upcoming TeenWolfMovie is basically a season 7 that fits into one movie, says creator Jeff Davis. 'By the end of writing the movie, I kind of realized, 'Oh my god. This is basically season seven all in one movie.''
Teen Wolf: The Movie will continue Teen Wolf's story as if the movie is in its own season. The film will take place after Teen Wolf's conclusion, which stars Scott McCall , a typical high school student who finds his life completely changed after being bitten by a werewolf and transformed forever. The ending of Teen Wolf season 6 left an opportunity for the show's continuation completely open in the wake of its cancelation.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While Teen Wolf's future after Teen Wolf: The Movie remains in question, CBR reports that the show's creator Jeff Davis told SFX Magazine that he intends to include an entire season's worth of material within Teen Wolf: The Movie. Check out his explanation below: "A colossal undertaking. The first cut was three hours long. Part of that is you have so many characters to service. By the end of writing the movie, I kind of realized, 'Oh my god. This is basically season seven all in one movie.' We packed a lot into this movie. It was trying to give the fans big moments, tear-jerking moments and funny moments, while giving them throwbacks to what the show was, but also a few new things like Vince Mattis, who plays Eli, Derek Hale’s son.
While the show concludes with the Teen Wolf cast set to move on after high school, Teen Wolf: The Movie will take place a decade later. With Scott still the Alpha of his pack, he will have proven to be a powerful werewolf since it is difficult to control a pack for that long. With supernatural creatures now common knowledge in Beacon Hill, the upcoming movie can explore Scott's leadership as the rest of the world watches, especially with hunters pouring in from every direction.
Teen Wolf: The Movie is slated for streaming release on Paramount+ on January 26. With Allison back, there is going to be a major emotional arc for all the cast members, given the role she played in Teen Wolf's story. With new and deadly threats on the horizon, they will need to put their worries aside, figure out how she returned, and why she's back — especially since she is going out of her way to try to kill Derek.
