Further details have been released in a homicide investigation after a man was found dead in a home on North 14th Street on September 13th.
Police found a man, later identified as Thomas Davenport III, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and chest on the first floor of the home.Police searched the home and found cocaine, a scale, marijuana, a box of 9mm ammunition, and 380 ammunitions in a plastic bag, all in a front bedroom on the second floor, which belongs toFollowing an autopsy on September 17th, a coroner confirmed that Davenport III had only been shot once in the chest.
He told police that he thought an intruder had entered his home through the 3rd floor bedroom window, and was coming downstairs to his bedroom on the 2nd floor. Tymarion told police he then grabbed a gun that was in his room, and yelled out to whoever was coming down the steps. Tymarion said as the person got closer, he turned his head and shot whoever was coming. He said he did not know it was his father coming down the stairs.He has been charged with homicide, carrying firearms without a license, manufacture, delivery or intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
