The 16-year-old was also charged with endangerment of a child in the incident that occurred Friday at noon in downtown Jersey City. Police say the boy, whose name was not released because he’s a minor, dumped the 5-month-old nearly a half-mile from where the Porsche was stolen on Montgomery Street. The boy’s mother told police the Newark teen entered the 2023 white Porsche Macan through the driver’s side and demanded the she get out. The teen drove away, and Jersey City police found the vehicle speeding north on Marin Boulevard, but did not pursue it because of the high rate of speed and time of day, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
Police located the 5-month-old on Washington Street.
