A man was killed Thursday evening when a 15-year-old reportedly driving a stolen car smashed through a West Valley City neighborhood, hitting several vehicles, a house and the victim.
A man was killed when he was struck by a stolen car allegedly driven by a 15-year-old boy. The car also smashed into this home.
The driver — a 15-year-old boy — got back in the car and began to drive away. An officer threw spike strips onto the roadway, and the car hit both the strips and a police vehicle — but did not stop. He “fled from the scene at a high rate of speed,” according to police. A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly drove a stolen car into the yard on the right — after hitting the house on the left and killing a man who was standing in front of it.
The stolen car sheared off the gas meter at the house it hit, causing a gas leak that forced the evacuation of several homes in the area. Crews capped off the leak and residents were able to return to their homes.
