in connection with the death of a 17-year-old boy in Deschambault Lake on Sunday.An RCMP media release on Wednesday said members of the Deschambault Lake detachment received a report about an injured person on a street around 11:15 p.m. that night.Arriving officers found the 17-year-old’s body, according to police. Family of the boy, identified as a Deschambault Lake resident, have been notified and Victim Services has been made available to them.
RCMP said the initial investigation led officers to a home in the community, where the teen girl was arrested. She can’t be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act . RCMP would not provide her age, citing the YCJA and the fact that the community is small, but confirmed she is a teen.The RCMP Major Crimes section continues to investigate.Police also arrested a man wanted on warrants for charges that include assault with a weapon, RCMP said. Police said the man had injuries sustained during a separate assault, which is also under investigation.
