The Hollywood actor has candidly discussed the effect Casey Coates' stroke had on their marriage.
Actor Ted Danson has shared an insight into how his relationship with ex-wife Casey Coates was affected by her stroke.Cheers star Danson and producer Coates wed in 1977. Two years later, while giving birth to the couple's first daughter Kate, Coates experienced a 'massive' stroke that left her paralyzed on her left side.
''In a 1982 interview with People magazine, Danson, who was previously married to actress Randy Gosch, revealed that Coates spent three and a half months in hospital following her stroke. The actor told the publication that he slept on the floor of the hospital room for the first three weeks of her stay.'A neurosurgeon told me she would be lucky to walk again,' Danson recalled at the time, as Coates also candidly discussed the trauma she endured.
