A teacher's 34th birthday celebration turned into tragedy when a fire destroyed his two-story home in Besut, Malaysia. Abdul Aziz Zakaria, the teacher, was away working in a paddy field when the fire broke out around 6:30 pm, destroying 80% of the 60-year-old house. Nine motorcycles, a car, and a lorry were also damaged in the blaze. Although the fire caused significant damage, all seven family members residing in the house managed to escape unharmed.

Katanya, ketika kejadian dia tiada di rumah kerana berada di kawasan sawah padi untuk melakukan kerja-kerja pertanian dan mengetahuinya selepas dihubungi adiknya. Bagaimanapun Abdul Aziz bersyukur kerana semua ahli keluarganya sempat menyelamatkan diri sewaktu kejadian dan tiada sebarang kemalangan jiwa berlaku.
