TEA changes location to Delmar Stadium for a third community meeting on HISD takeover.

Scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the meeting was initially supposed to take place at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center. It will now be held at the athletic facility at 2020 Mangum.from HISD parents, students, staff and teachers regarding the takeover process, which will replace the current elected board of trustees with a state-appointed board of managers.Applications for the board of managers will be accepted by the state through April.

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee appeared at the first meeting on March 21 at Westbury High School and told attendees she would take their questions directly to Morath. Jackson Lee and 26 other members of Congress have called on the federal government to intervene in the takeover, calling it a"violation of the civil rights of the students of HISD."

After the hearing Wednesday, another one is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday inside Kashmere High School's auditorium.
