Taylor Swift is driving spending in the South Bay - hotels in the area have been completely sold out for weeks. 'She's a stimulus package to all of these cities that she has come to visit,' Santa Clara City Councilmember Kathy Watanabe said.

"It has actually been unprecedented for us," Discover Santa Clara CEO Christine Lawson said. "The moment the concert was announced that it would be at Levi's Stadium, the phones rang off the hook at our hotels."Hotels in the area have been completely sold out for weeks. Lawson says the Elton John show last year, the Eras Tour this weekend and an upcoming Beyoncé concert are huge for the city.
"We're bringing all these people here for these specific events, but it's also that added exposure," Lawson said. "As part of the event, as an ancillary offshoot, they're exploring the city." A nationwide survey from QuestionPro showed that Taylor Swift concertgoers are spending more than $1,000 per event in tickets, food, hotels and other purchases per show.
