Houston had its highest hotel revenue week of 2023 during Taylor Swift's concerts.

Swift performed in Houston April 21, 22 and 23 and during that time, Houston’s hotels were at almost 87 percent occupancy, the Houston Business Journal reported. The average daily rate was $143.Notably, Swift’s Houston tour dates overlapped with the 2023 FIRST Championship for student robotics, which brought in about 50,000 people from the U.S. and internationally. The competition was held downtown in Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center.
The occupancy from that busy weekend is a large jump from Houston’s average hotel occupancy. In 2019, the city’s hotels were at about 67% occupancy and in 2022, it was 54%, according to analysis from the Houston Business Journal. Swift’s only other Texas-stop on the Eras Tour was Arlington, outside of Dallas. The Texas locations along with Tampa, Florida; Atlanta and Nashville, Tennessee, make up her southern U.S. stops.
The last time Swift was on tour was 2018, and since then she has released four new albums, not including what she re-recorded.
