Previously, Swift had said the movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, would only be released in North America, but it was later announced thatThe film will play in more than 100 countries from 13 October. It was recorded in August over the first three nights the singer played at the SoFi stadium in Los Angeles. Sam Wrench, who directed concert films for Billie Eilish and Lizzo, is at the helm, and it was produced by Taylor Swift Productions.
Coming in at two hours and 45-minute, the film’s running time is shorter than Swift’s Eras concert, which takes in 44 songs and is more than three hours long.Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour provides movie theatre chains such as AMC Entertainment, Cineplex and Cinemark with a high-profile title to help fill gaps caused by the actors’ and writers’ strikes in Hollywood.
