Per a new report from Deadline, presales for the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert movie have already surpassed the $65 million mark and are well on the way to reaching the film’s anticipated $100 million box office projections. In comparison, presales for some of Marvel and DC’s more recent releases clocked in at $60 million for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and $42 million for Matt Reeves' The Batman.
Why Taylor Swift’s Popularity Might Be A Boon For The Marvel Cinematic Universe Beginning her musical career at just 14 years of age, Swift has grown to become one of the most influential recording artists of the modern age, frequently smashing sales and streaming records for her album releases and prompting unprecedented demand for concert tickets.
However, while Swift may be proving herself a formidable rival to Marvel’s own box office dominance, rumors are rampant that the singer may potentially join forces with the superhero franchise in Deadpool 3. While these rumors are currently unsubstantiated, many viewers are suggesting the singer would be the perfect choice to play the X-Men character Dazzler, who in addition to possessing mutant abilities is also a popular recording artist in the Marvel universe.
With Deadpool 2 previously recruiting the likes of Celine Dion to provide its memorable title track, there’s probably no reason they would not be able to convince Swift to make her own cameo appearance. However, with Swift’s current worldwide tour not expected to conclude until November next year, coordinating with her schedule could be problematic.
