The IRS is opening Taxpayer Assistance Centers across the US this Saturday as this year's tax filing deadline quickly approaches. These centers will be open from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday.

These centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and will allow taxpayers to receive help from IRS employees in person without having to make an appointment ahead of time. Though these centers are open throughout the week, people going during the week should make appointments in advance, while the availability hours on Saturday will allow all walk-ins, according to a news release from the IRS.

Taxpayers who choose to visit these assistance centers can receive answers to any questions they may have about a tax bill or receive help in fixing a tax problem they might have. If the employees are not available to help, the taxpayer will receive a referral to receive additional help for whatever services they need.

Those who plan to visit these centers should also come prepared and bring their government-issued ID cards, all of their household members' Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers, any IRS notices they have received, and two forms of identification. Additionally, taxpayers should know that IRS staff may ask for a current mailing address and proof of bank account information included on a tax return when visiting these assistance centers.

Additional information regarding these Taxpayer Assistance Centers, including where to find one, can be found on the IRS's website.
