Tawau lights up for Christmas

TAWAU: With Christmas around the corner, Chester Road here is decorated with a giant lighted-Christmas tree and Christmas-themed props.

President of the Tawau Inter-Church , Pastor Jackey Tan said it was the third year of working together with the Tawau Municipal Council in decorating the Chester Road roundabout with Christmas-themed props. Jackey, who is also Pastor of Basel Church said the TIC consisting of seven churches in Tawau, took two weeks to complete the Christmas decorations and the lighting ceremony was officiated by the Engineer of TMC, Ir.

Besides of lighting ceremony, there was choir presentation by the Basel Church Tawau, followed by choir presentation and tambourine performance by churches. The Chester road was extremely lively! The decoration in conjunction with different festivals was started in December 2019 during Christmas, followed by Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Harvest Festival and Deepavali.
