InterContinental Kuala Lumpur's Tao Chinese Cuisine is offering a special Lunar New Year dining experience with its Fortune Set , featuring a unique Wok-fried Wild Rice with Chicken Sausage, Mushrooms, Dried Seaweed Flakes and Red Tobiko. The Canadian wild rice provides a distinct texture, resembling glutinous rice, and is combined with barbecue chicken, mushrooms, tobiko, and seaweed, giving it a Japanese influence.
This flavorful fried rice is just one highlight of the restaurant's Emerald Elegance – Feast of Fortune themed menu, inspired by the Year of the Wood Snake and the symbolism of emerald gemstones. The Fortune Set also showcases Tao's signature yee sang, available in five varieties, each featuring premium ingredients like fresh seafood (lobster, abalone, soft-shell crab, and salmon) and high-quality, free-range ducks imported from Ireland's Silver Hill Farm. These ducks are raised on a natural diet and meticulously prepared through a three-day process to ensure perfectly crispy skin and tender, juicy meat. The menu continues with a Double-boiled Village Chicken Soup with Fish Maw, Dendrobium and Cordyceps Flower, followed by Steamed Giant River Prawns with Sea Urchin, Egg White and Shredded Ginger. The Steamed Cod Fish Fillet with Fresh Bean Curd, Wood Ear Mushrooms and Black Olives is another impressive dish, along with the Pan-fried Scallops with Asparagus and Macadamia Nuts. To conclude the meal, diners can enjoy Double-boiled Soy Milk with Bird’s Nest and Red Dates served chilled or warm, and Steamed Ninko with Roasted Soy Flour. The steamed ninko, presented in a Jenga-style arrangement, features a texture similar to mochi. Tao Chinese Cuisine offers a selection of seven set menus until February 12th, featuring a range of price points to cater to different preferences.
