Tamil Nadu is bracing for Cyclone Fengal, expected to make landfall on Saturday evening. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts wind speeds of 70-80 kmph, with gusts up to 90 kmph. Precautionary measures are in place, and fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.

Ahead of the landfall, heavy rains have already lashed parts of the state, causing waterlogging in several areas of the Chennai district. Air India informed passengers on X: “Flights to and from Chennai are getting affected due to inclement weather and heavy rains. Please check your flight status before heading to the airport.”
