In Zimbabwe , Talitha Kum stands as a beacon of hope in the fight against human trafficking. Led by the Little Children of Our Blessed Lady (LCBL Sisters), this organization provides crucial support to survivors, raises awareness about this global issue, and empowers the next generation to become leaders in combating trafficking. Sr.

Diana Kanyere, the current National Coordinator of the International Network of Consecrated Life Against Human Trafficking, has spearheaded these efforts in Zimbabwe. The organization recognizes the devastating impact of human trafficking, which ensnares over 40 million people in modern slavery worldwide. In Zimbabwe, poverty, unemployment, and lack of opportunities create a vulnerable environment where traffickers exploit individuals, particularly women and children. Through Talitha Kum Zimbabwe, LCBL Sisters offer comprehensive services to survivors, encompassing counselling, medical care, and training. 'Every survivor deserves dignity, respect, and a chance to rebuild their life,' says Sr. Kanyere. 'Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where they can heal, learn, and thrive.' The organization's strategy extends beyond direct service provision. They actively engage religious leaders, recognizing their significant influence within communities. In 2023, Talitha Kum Zimbabwe conducted a training workshop for 30 religious men and women, alongside 10 youth, from various dioceses. This initiative aims to equip religious leaders with the knowledge and tools to raise awareness about human trafficking and inspire positive change within their congregations. Additionally, Talitha Kum Zimbabwe focuses on empowering the next generation of anti-trafficking advocates through youth-focused programs. Training workshops for youth ambassadors and university students provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become active agents of change. As Talitha Kum Zimbabwe continues its crucial work, they emphasize the need for collective action. 'We cannot do this alone,' says Sr. Kanyere. 'We need the support of everyone to create a world where human trafficking is no longer tolerated.' Their unwavering commitment to this mission serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of collective efforts in combating this global scourge
