Taiwan has extended for another year its visa-free entry policy for the Philippines, starting from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2024. | kdevillaINQ /PDI
The scheme that allowed Filipinos to stay visa-free in Taiwan for 14 days, was first introduced to Filipinos in a nine-month trial period starting in November 2017 and has since been extended annually.
Silvestre Bello III, chair of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office Cultural Office, thanked Taipei for the extension of the policy, saying this would benefit the family and friends of more than 170,000 Filipinos working and residing in Taiwan. “We look forward to stronger exchanges in the field of labor, trade, investments and culture with this renewed display of benevolence by Taiwan,” he said on Saturday.The Taiwan Tourism Bureau is also in Manila to lead a delegation to join the 10th Travel Madness Expo in Pasay City from June 30 to July 2.
