IPOH: A biscuit factory in Taiping has been raided by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry for unauthorised use of the halal logo .
He said checks found that the factory had used the logo without approval on packets of biscuits distributed in the northern states.“The case is being investigated under Order 8 of the Trade Description Order 2011 because described the biscuits it supplies as halal and can be eaten by Muslims,” he said in a statement on Friday .
He said all the controlled goods at the premises, such as cooking oil, sugar and flour worth over RM7,000 in total, had been seized as well.
