Mayor Laarni Cayetano said the local government initiated the motorcade and meet-and-greet events to honor the remarkable achievements and determination of Filipinas.
“We are one with the entire country in celebrating this remarkable feat. We are beyond proud of their achievements and are looking forward to what’s in store in the future for these trailblazers in women’s sports,” she added. The athletes graciously shared their team jerseys with people waiting for them during their stroll through the streets.
Filipinas Team Defender, Sofia Harrison, radiated inspiration as she shared an advice for aspiring young players: “Keep dreaming. Keep believing. Trust the process and trust God. And most importantly, have fun with it.”
