The Transport Minister said the system is designed to automatically shut down if an object falls onto the tracks.
He said this when asked if the safety system failed following a tragic incident where a blind man fell onto the tracks right at the moment the train arrived and was killed.“Whenever an object falls onto the tracks, the system will automatically shut down. But in this case, the person fell right at the moment when the train arrived,” he told reporters after launching the Stage Bus Service Transportation programme - BAS.MY service - at the town hall building here on Monday .
He said one of the measures was installing smart CCTV systems capable of detecting high-risk behaviour at train stations, and in the long term, Prasarana is planning to install platform screens across all LRT lines as part of efforts to increase passenger safety.PSA laws tabled for first readingEarly literacy efforts reduce number of Year One students lacking 3M skills
