A mother and Iran refugee is behind bars for running a drug operation from her home in Sydney's west.
Yosra Rabieh fled persecution in Iran for a fresh start in Australia, but funding a lavish new life of expensive cars and designer goods through the drug trade has come at the cost of her liberty.
The drugs were smuggled into Australia in crates of charcoal, which Maleki imported from Thailand in a company registered to his then-wife's name. Yosra Rabieh and her ex-husband Ali Malek were arrested in 2018, when police raided their home and uncovered a 30 kilogram stash of methamphetamine and $256,000 cash.
The pair spent the money on luxury cars, designer goods and overseas trips all while they were both supposedly unemployed and receiving Centrelink benefits.
