The number of Chinese travellers visiting Australia has climbed, with Sydney Airport recording milestone international passenger traffic for the month of March.
The number of Chinese travellers visiting Australia has picked up speed, as Sydney Airport records its strongest post-COVID period to date. More than 3.1 million travellers passed through Sydney Airport in March this year, which represents a 86.7 per cent recovery compared to the same month in 2019.
A total of 1,086,000 travellers passed through the airport's T1 International terminal last month, which represented a 82.3 per cent recovery on passenger traffic in March 2019. In a statement, Sydney Airport CEO Geoff Culbert said with new airlines and routes now available"momentum was starting to build", particularly in the T1 International terminal.
