A juvenile occupant of the buggy was flown to a hospital in West Virginia but he died of his injuries.
RIO GRANDE, Ohio — An SUV smashed into the back of an Amish buggy in Gallia County in southern Ohio, killing a juvenile in the buggy, reports say., the crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Friday on Ohio 325. A Ford Escape driven by a 32-year-old Waterloo, Ohio, resident was heading south on Ohio 325 when it crashed into the buggy.
The impact knocked the buggy off the right side of the road, causing it to overturn and ejecting its two juvenile occupants, the patrol says. Both juveniles were taken to hospitals, with one dying after being flown to Cabel-Huntington Hospital in West Virginia. The driver of the Escape was not injured. No charges had been filed but the crash remains under investigation.
