Roger Freed is the second Williamsport Area High School educator ordered to stand trial on sexual misconduct charges involving students.

WILLIAMSPORT – A suspended Williamsport Area High School principal is headed to trial on sexual misconduct charges involving a male student.

The student, now 23, also described three occasions Freed provided him alcohol and cigars. They exchanged nude pictures, he said. The educator, who is married, never asked for consent. “He just took control,” the student testified. The student told investigators he had reached out to Freed in 2014 or 2015 when he was 16 for emotional support because he was aware others had confided in the educator.

First Assistant District Attorney Martin L. Wade explained under the law that age is not an issue as long as the victim is a student, which was the case here.
