Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney will prosecute the Suspected Long Island serial Killer Rex Heuermann, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
is charged with six counts of murder: one count of first degree murder and one count of second degree murder for each of the three victims. The victims have been identified as Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello.
"He intends to prosecute this case fully and bring justice to the victims of this alleged serial killer. In addition, the DA’s office will continue to work with our Task Force partners to develop new evidence and prepare the case for trial," the statement reads.
