A suspect who was being taken into custody was reportedly able to remove his handcuffs and escape at some point during his arrest on Monday, officials reported.– A suspect who was being taken into custody was able to remove his handcuffs and escape at some point during his arrest on Monday, officials reported.
Authorities with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, Braden Findley, was arrested in the 2300 block of Wigmaker Drive for Felony Violation of a Protective Order/Retaliation and was in the process of being transported to the Clay Road substation. When an HCSO deputy attempted to escort Findley into the substation, he was able to remove his handcuffs and then fled on foot near the 16000 block of Clay Road.
Findley had been arrested before, according to HCSO. Court records indicated he was charged with aggravated assault on a family member and retaliation on May 4. Officials say there is no threat to the public and this time. Houston Police Department’s SWAT team is assisting in the search.Moriah Ballard joined the KPRC 2 digital team in the fall of 2021.
