UPDATE: The suspect in a fatal Wheat Ridge convenience store shooting has been arrested by Indiana State Police.
A Wheat Ridge convenience store clerk was killed Thursday night after being attacked in the store, and Indiana State Police on Friday morning arrested the suspect, who was driving the clerk’s vehicle after a high-speed pursuit.
Video surveillance showed the clerk being attacked by someone who then shot and killed him. The shooter then fled in the clerk’s vehicle. The driver, identified by the state police as 26-year-old Shawnathan Deangelo Chance of Dunn, N.C., was not injured and was taken into custody. A background check on the Nissan revealed that it was reported stolen in Wheat Ridge and possibly connected to a homicide.
